PolarPro Arctic CP - 86C mm Threaded - Benjamin Hardman
PolarPro Arctic CP - 86C mm Threaded - Benjamin Hardman | Control reflections outdoors
PolarPro Arctic CP - 86C mm Threaded - Benjamin Hardman is a threaded CP filter, identified in the product title with an 86C mm thread designation. It’s aimed at photographers who want to manage reflections in outdoor scenes, especially around water, glass and bright skies. CP refers to a circular polariser: rotate the filter while viewing your scene to adjust how much reflected light it cuts. That can help reveal detail beneath surface glare or give a blue sky more definition, depending on the light and your angle to the subject. The threaded design is intended to attach to a lens with a matching filter thread, so the thread size is an important part of choosing it. The Benjamin Hardman name is part of this product’s title. This is a specific filter for photographers who want polarisation control at the lens, rather than a general-purpose description of camera protection.
Specialist Note
On a bright morning, a lake can reflect so much sky that the water’s own detail gets lost. This is where the CP designation earns attention: rotate the filter as you look at the scene and you can adjust the reflection, which is useful for water or glass, and can also give a blue sky more definition. I’d point this out to landscape photographers and anyone often shooting through reflective surfaces. The threaded fitting means it attaches directly to a lens with the matching filter thread; the 86C mm designation is therefore a key detail when selecting it. Polarisation depends on the light and shooting angle, so it won’t give the same effect in every direction.
