Radius 10cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22)
Radius 10cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) | Help reduce wind noise in recordings
A breeze across a microphone can distract from an interview or outdoor recording, and that’s where a windshield earns its place. The Radius 10cm Nimbus Windshield is a microphone accessory for that job, with “19/22” in its name as the key sizing detail. It suits someone choosing a windshield for a microphone associated with that designation and wanting a named, compact-format option for location work. The product name also gives you the 10cm measurement, so you can compare it with the space and coverage you need in your setup. A windshield is most useful when moving air is the problem; it won’t remove other unwanted sounds from a recording. If you’re preparing for a session, match the 19/22 marking to the microphone’s stated size before you set up. That keeps the choice focused on fit and wind protection.
Specialist Note
Wind catching the microphone can turn a clear voice recording into a distracting one; this Nimbus windshield is made for that particular nuisance. I’d consider it for an outdoor interview or a location recording where air movement may reach the mic, fitting it around the microphone and checking that the 19/22 designation matches the size you need. The 10cm figure is useful when you’re planning the physical setup, especially where space around the mic is limited. It’s a focused accessory, not a fix for traffic, handling noise or other sounds. For the right fit and a windy recording situation, that’s exactly the point.
