Radius Windcover For Rycote WS9 Windshield
Radius Windcover For Rycote WS9 Windshield | Keep scratches and bumps at bay
Its pouch-style design gives the Rycote WS9 Windshield a protective place inside a larger camera bag, helping prevent scratches and bumps from contact with other gear. That’s the useful job of the Radius Windcover: keeping this specific windshield better protected while it’s packed away, without turning it into a bulky standalone case. It suits sound recordists and video makers who carry a WS9 alongside other equipment and want a simple way to keep the windshield separate from the rest of their kit. Use it when packing up between recording sessions, or when storing the windshield in a larger bag with cables and accessories. The benefit is practical rather than complicated: a dedicated pouch helps reduce the knocks and surface marks that can happen as equipment shifts during transport. It’s a focused accessory for protecting the windshield you already use.
Specialist Note
Late in the day, the Rycote WS9 goes back into the larger kit bag, and this is where the Radius pouch earns its place. Because it’s made for the WS9 windshield, you can give that particular piece of kit its own protected spot instead of letting it rub against loose equipment. Its role as a protective case or pouch matters in a different way: it’s intended to guard against scratches and bumps during bag transport, so I’d use it when packing up after a recording session or storing the windshield between jobs. It’s a straightforward solution for WS9 owners; just don’t treat it as a reason to pile heavy gear on top.
