Rycote Cyclone Cable 260mm (MZL)
Rycote Cyclone Cable 260mm (MZL) | A short cable for close setups
Without a short cable to hand, it’s easy to end up with extra lead gathered around a compact microphone setup. The Rycote Cyclone Cable 260mm (MZL) is a cable accessory for situations where the required run is close and a longer length would leave unwanted slack. At 260 mm, it’s intended for a short connection between nearby parts of a setup, rather than for routing across a room or between distant positions. That makes it relevant to microphone users building a compact arrangement around the Rycote Cyclone name. The MZL designation identifies the version by its product name; it’s worth keeping that detail in mind when selecting this particular cable. If your setup calls for a short cable run and this is the named version you need, its concise length is the main point. It’s a focused accessory, not a general-length cable for every layout.
Specialist Note
At 260 mm, this cable is too short for a setup where equipment needs to be spread out; that’s the first thing I’d weigh up. For a close arrangement, though, that limited reach is exactly the point: you can use it between nearby parts of a microphone rig without having a longer cable’s slack to manage. The MZL designation is also useful when you’re choosing this exact named version rather than browsing for a cable by length alone. I’d consider it for a compact Cyclone-related setup where the cable run is known and short. If you need to route farther, choose a longer cable instead.
