Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit Small (Lemo)
Rycote Cyclone Windshield Kit Small (Lemo) | Compact wind protection
The small format is the defining choice in this Rycote Cyclone kit: it gives you a windshield option for microphone setups where the Small size is the one you need. Its purpose is to help shield a microphone from wind, which can otherwise distract from a voice or ambient sound recording. The Lemo designation identifies this particular version, so it matters when matching the kit to your recording setup. It’s aimed at sound recordists who need wind protection and know they require the Small version with a Lemo connection. That makes the product name especially useful when choosing between versions: both the size and the connection are specified, rather than left as a general Cyclone description. For interviews, location dialogue or recording outdoor ambience, it offers a focused solution without adding claims about microphone models or performance that the product details don’t establish.
Where this kit fits
A windshield is most relevant when moving air risks becoming unwanted noise in a recording. This kit is identified by two practical selection details: its Small size and its Lemo designation. Use those details to distinguish it from other Cyclone versions in a microphone setup. The product name describes a specific version, not a universal fit for every microphone.
Specialist Note
A breeze crosses the location just as you’re setting up for a spoken recording; that’s when a dedicated windshield has a clear job to do. I’d consider this Cyclone for a one-speaker interview or an outdoor ambience recording where wind could distract from the sound you want. Keep the microphone positioned close to the speaker for dialogue, and use the windshield as the wind-protection part of that setup. The Small size is useful when that’s the format your rig calls for, while Lemo makes this a specific connection version rather than a generic kit. It’s a focused accessory, so the key is matching both identifiers to your microphone setup.
