Rycote Hi Wind Cover 1
Rycote Hi Wind Cover 1 | A dedicated cover for microphone wind protection
For outdoor speech recordings, a microphone wind cover is intended to help keep moving air from getting in the way of the sound you want to capture. The Rycote Hi Wind Cover 1 is a microphone accessory for that job: a straightforward option to consider when recording outside or in breezy conditions. Its name identifies it as a wind cover, while “1” is part of the product’s model name. That makes this page relevant if you’re looking for a Rycote cover with this exact designation. Think interviews, spoken notes or other recordings where clear speech matters and wind is a concern. The product information available here doesn’t give further details about its construction or fit, so I’d avoid guessing which particular microphone it suits. If the model name matches the cover you need, it’s a focused accessory rather than a general-purpose audio add-on.
Specialist Note
A dedicated wind cover is the direct answer when moving air is a concern, rather than trying to shield a microphone by hand. The Hi Wind wording tells you the intended job; the “1” is part of this particular product name, so use the full designation when looking for this version. I’d consider it for an outdoor interview or a spoken recording made in a breezy location, where the aim is to record the voice without wind becoming a distraction. It’s a purpose-specific accessory, not a way to improve every kind of recording. Since no microphone fit details are provided, I’d match it by the exact Rycote product name rather than assume compatibility.
