Rycote Neoprene Coated Lavalier Foam
Rycote Neoprene Coated Lavalier Foam | A simple cover for lavalier microphones
This is a foam covering for a lavalier microphone, with a neoprene-coated outer surface. It suits anyone who records spoken audio with a lav mic and wants a dedicated cover as part of the setup. Think interviews, on-camera conversations or presentations: the small foam piece sits around the microphone head, keeping the setup compact and unobtrusive. Its appeal is its straightforward purpose. You’re adding a cover to a lavalier mic, not changing the microphone or adding another recording device. That makes it an easy accessory to consider when preparing a simple speech-recording setup. The name tells you what it is; its value comes down to having the right kind of covering for a lavalier microphone, in a plain black finish.
Specialist Note
People new to lavalier microphones sometimes concentrate on positioning the mic and forget to think about covering its head. This gives you a foam layer to place around that small microphone. For a one-speaker interview, keep the mic in its usual position and use the cover as part of that setup; it’s a simple, focused accessory rather than a substitute for the microphone itself. The neoprene coating is the outer finish, while the foam forms the covering, so you can see exactly what kind of piece you’re adding. Black is a discreet-looking option on camera. It’s best suited to someone who already uses a lavalier mic and wants this specific style of cover.
