Rycote Stereo Duck Raincover AG
Rycote Stereo Duck Raincover AG | Rain cover for stereo microphone recording
Rycote Stereo Duck Raincover AG is a raincover for stereo microphone use, giving outdoor recordists a dedicated way to keep rain off their microphone setup. It suits sound recordists capturing ambience, interviews or location audio where a stereo perspective matters and the weather may change. Its strongest use is straightforward: have a purpose-named cover ready when recording in wet conditions, rather than leaving the microphone exposed. “Stereo” signals its focus on stereo recording, while “Raincover” describes its role; it’s a protective accessory, not a microphone or recording device. For location work, that clear purpose makes it easy to decide when it belongs in your kit. Keep it with the stereo microphone you record with and bring it out when showers threaten. If you need a raincover for stereo microphone recording, this is the specific job the product is named for.
Specialist Note
Rain starts to fall over a quiet morning location recording, and the Rycote Stereo Duck Raincover AG has a clear role: covering a stereo microphone in wet weather. I’d consider it for two-channel ambience recording outdoors, or for an interview where you want to retain a stereo perspective as the weather turns. Keep the cover close to the microphone and use it when rain threatens, so you can focus on the recording rather than leaving the setup exposed. The stereo designation matters if you’re recording a two-channel image; this isn’t a general-purpose audio accessory. Its brief is deliberately specific: raincover for stereo microphone use.
