It directly builds on the legacy of the acclaimed Samyang 135mm f2.0 ED UMC lens, preserving its stellar optical attributes. What sets the VDSLR variant apart is its integrated gear ring that facilitates seamless follow-focus operation without additional equipment. This lens is tailored for full-frame DSLRs and camcorders with a sensor size of 24x36 mm or smaller.
Featuring a floating lens design, the Samyang 135mm T2.2 VDSLR incorporates an extra-low dispersion (ED) glass element to ensure exceptional optical performance. Its circular diaphragm, with nine blades, creates a beautifully blurred background, making it ideal for portrait photography. The lens elements are enhanced with Samyang's multi-layer anti-reflective UMC coating, which contributes to high contrast and accurate color reproduction. Both the design of the lens and the coating significantly reduce issues such as chromatic aberrations, ghosting, and lens flare.
Furthermore, the VDSLR version comes equipped with a decoupled aperture and focus ring, making it an ideal choice for filmmakers.
