Sirui Aurora Series 35mm f/1.4 FullFrame Autofocus Lens (X Mount) | A bright prime for street and travel

On a street where the light is fading and moments move quickly, a bright autofocus prime can make it easier to keep shooting without changing lenses. The Sirui Aurora Series 35mm f/1.4 is a standard prime for Fuji X mount, suited to street photography and travel. Its 35mm focal length gives a natural, familiar perspective for everyday scenes, while autofocus helps you keep up with changing subjects. The lens is listed for full-frame format, so it may also appeal to photographers choosing a lens with that format in mind. For travel, its standard-prime perspective works well for street details, people and scenes that don’t call for an especially wide view. It’s a focused option for photographers who want one bright focal length to work with, rather than a zoom covering several angles of view.

Specialist Note

The f/1.4 maximum aperture gives you extra room to work when street light drops; for an evening scene, opening to f/1.4 lets in more light and can help keep your shutter speed up. I’d consider it for travel portraits too, where that wide aperture can help draw attention to your subject. One detail to keep in mind: on Fujifilm X bodies, which use APS-C sensors, 35mm gives framing similar to about 52.5mm on full frame. That’s a comfortable, tighter view for people and street details, but it won’t show as much of a broad scene. If that framing suits your eye, this is a distinctive focal length to build a trip around.
