Sirui Saturn 1.6X FullFrame Anamorphic Lens Set Z Mount (50MM&75mm Blue Flare)
Sirui Saturn 1.6X FullFrame Anamorphic Lens Set Z Mount (50MM&75mm Blue Flare) | Two focal lengths for a widescreen look
Getting a widescreen look from a full-frame Nikon Z setup can mean compromising on framing or carrying several lenses. This Sirui Saturn set brings two anamorphic focal lengths together: 50mm and 75mm, both with a 1.6x squeeze and blue flare. It’s aimed at filmmakers who want the distinctive horizontal framing and flare character of anamorphic images, with a choice of focal length for different scenes. Use the 50mm for dialogue or environmental shots, then switch to the 75mm for tighter portraits and details. The 1.6x squeeze captures a wider horizontal view; footage needs to be desqueezed in post-production to display with the intended proportions. The blue flare gives bright light sources a noticeable visual signature, so this set is best suited to a planned look rather than scenes where you want flare to stay unobtrusive.
Specialist Note
For a 50mm dialogue scene with room to show the setting, I’d frame for the subject’s vertical position and let the 1.6x squeeze give you more horizontal view. That’s the appeal of this set: you can keep that anamorphic approach, then move to 75mm when you want a closer portrait or a more selective detail. It’s made for Nikon Z full-frame filmmakers building a widescreen look around two specific focal lengths. Remember to desqueeze the footage in post, and treat the blue flare as part of the image rather than a subtle effect; it won’t suit every scene.
