Tiffen FW3ND015 Filter Wheel 3 ND0.15
Tiffen FW3ND015 Filter Wheel 3 ND0.15 | A modest cut to incoming light
Bright conditions can leave you wanting just a little less light, without making a large exposure change. The Tiffen FW3ND015 is an ND filter identified for Filter Wheel 3, with an ND 0.15 density. That gives a modest reduction of about half a stop, useful when you want a small adjustment to exposure rather than a strong darkening effect. It suits photographers and video makers whose existing setup calls for this specific Tiffen filter and who need that measured change in light. Think of it as a fine adjustment: it can help you keep a preferred shutter speed or aperture when the scene is slightly brighter than you want. Its strength is that restrained step; it isn't intended to make a major exposure reduction on its own.
Specialist Note
For a bright scene where you want to move from 1/100 sec to around 1/70 sec, I’d consider the FW3ND015 for its half-stop reduction. The ND 0.15 rating makes this a small, deliberate exposure adjustment, so it suits someone who wants to retain a chosen aperture or gain a little shutter-speed flexibility without a dramatic change. I’d use the full Filter Wheel 3 designation when identifying the part, rather than relying on “ND filter” alone; that keeps the exact product name clear when selecting it for a setup. One limit to keep in mind: half a stop won’t solve a large excess of light.
