Tilta ES-T20-VMP Vertical Mounting Plate For Sony FX6 | Set up for vertical framing

The Tilta ES-T20-VMP Vertical Mounting Plate For Sony FX6 is a tripod accessory for mounting a Sony FX6 vertically. It’s intended for FX6 owners and camera teams who regularly need portrait-orientation footage alongside conventional landscape work. The plate’s purpose is specific: it gives vertical framing a place in your tripod setup, which is useful when a tall frame is part of the brief from the outset. Think social-first video, portrait-format interviews or other content composed for a vertical screen. If your work stays in landscape, this accessory may not have much to do; it’s most relevant when vertical shots are a recurring requirement. For those projects, having a dedicated mounting plate makes it easier to plan the camera position around the finished frame, rather than treating portrait orientation as an afterthought.

Specialist Note

A vertical composition becomes a planned tripod position, rather than something you have to improvise around on the day. I’d look at this plate if your Sony FX6 work includes regular portrait-format deliverables: frame the shot vertically from the start, and compose interviews or social clips for the tall screen they’ll appear on. Its specific role as a vertical mounting plate is the point; it’s an accessory for your tripod setup, not a complete support system. That makes it a focused addition for FX6 teams with a real need for vertical framing, rather than a part I’d add to a landscape-only kit.
