The TTArtisan 11mm f/2.8 is a full-frame fisheye prime for Leica L-mount cameras, with a 126° angle of view that takes in a broad sweep of a scene. It suits photographers who want an immersive, visibly curved perspective for dramatic landscapes, architectural details or night skies, rather than a neutral, rectilinear look. At 11mm, foreground objects can feel emphatically close while the surroundings spread around them; placement and framing become part of the creative decision. It’s a focused tool for a particular way of seeing: use it when you want its breadth and fisheye character to be obvious, and choose another lens when straight lines and restrained perspective are the priority.

Specialist Note

For a star field, I’d start at 11mm, f/2.8 and about 10 seconds, then adjust ISO to suit the sky and your camera. That wide aperture helps gather light for night-sky work, while the manual focus means you’ll set focus yourself; use magnified live view on a bright star to make that adjustment carefully. For architecture, keep the detail you want to read clearly near the centre of the frame, and use the curved lines toward the edges as part of the composition. This suits someone who enjoys a pronounced fisheye look and wants to work deliberately. One honest caveat: it won’t keep building lines straight across the frame.
