Urth 39mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000)
Urth 39mm Essentials Filter Kit Pro (UV CPL ND8 ND1000) | Four filters for more control over light
The defining choice is the 39mm filter size: Urth has brought four named filter types together in one size-specific kit, so you can choose an effect to suit the light and subject. The UV filter addresses ultraviolet light; the CPL is for managing reflections and changing the appearance of a blue sky. For exposure control, ND8 and ND1000 reduce the light reaching the lens by different amounts. That makes the set relevant to photographers who want to work with reflections, bright conditions or longer exposures, rather than relying on one filter for every situation. It’s also a straightforward way to explore the differences between polarising and neutral-density filters. The size is the important practical detail: the kit is for a 39mm filter fit, so it won’t suit a different filter size. If that’s the size you need, the range of filter types gives you several distinct effects to work with.
Specialist Note
By a canal in hard afternoon sun, the ND filters give you a way to make a moving-water exposure without simply accepting the shutter speed the light dictates. The ND8 represents an eightfold reduction in light, or three stops; from 1/125 sec, that’s roughly 1/15 sec. The ND1000 is much stronger: from the same starting exposure, you’re around eight seconds, which can soften flowing water. The 39mm size is the key fit detail, so match it to a lens with that filter size. I’d point this kit toward someone who wants both a CPL for reflections and stronger ND options for deliberate long exposures. Its limit is just as clear: the filters are 39mm, not a universal size.
