Urth 46mm CPL Lens Filter Pro

Urth 46mm CPL Lens Filter Pro | Tame reflections in bright scenes

Without a polarizing filter, reflections on water, glass and glossy leaves can take attention away from the subject. The Urth 46mm CPL Lens Filter Pro gives you a way to control those reflections while you’re taking the photo. It’s suited to photographers who shoot outdoors and want to make more deliberate choices about glare and reflected light, especially around water, foliage or windows. Rotate the filter while looking through the viewfinder and watch the effect change; stop when the reflections are reduced to the degree you want. The result depends on the light and your angle, so a polarizer won’t have the same effect in every scene. This is a focused tool for managing reflections, not a general fix for every bright or low-contrast image. Choose it for a lens that takes a 46mm filter.

Getting the polarization right

Make small turns and check the scene as you go. For water, this lets you decide how much of the surface reflection to keep; with glossy leaves, it can help bring out more of their natural colour by reducing glare. The change can be subtle or strong depending on your position and the light, so use the viewfinder to judge the effect rather than expecting one fixed setting to suit every frame.
