Urth Lens Mount Adapter: Compatible w/ M39 Lens To Canon RF Camera Body
Urth Lens Mount Adapter: Compatible w/ M39 Lens To Canon RF Camera Body | Use M39 lenses on Canon RF
Urth’s M39-to-Canon RF adapter is a fully manual mount link, so it brings M39 lenses to Canon RF camera bodies without relying on electronic controls. It’s for Canon RF users who already own an M39 lens and want to keep using it for stills with a straightforward, secure connection. Try a familiar M39 lens for a carefully focused portrait, or use its manual focus for a landscape and turn the lens to infinity for distant subjects. Aperture, autofocus, AE metering, image stabilisation and exposure settings need manual attention, so this setup suits photographers who are happy to work without those automatic functions. Urth also plants one tree for every product sold and has a stated goal of planting one billion by 2032. For anyone with a specific M39 lens in mind, this adapter opens a direct route to using it on a Canon RF body.
On the lens
- Manual focus to infinity: You can focus by hand all the way to distant subjects. That’s useful for landscapes and other scenes where you want to set focus deliberately.
- Secure connection: The adapter is made for a close, stable fit between the M39 lens and Canon RF body. A steady mount matters when you’re adjusting the lens by hand.
- No light leakage: Its connection is specified to prevent light leaks. That keeps unwanted light from entering around the join between lens and camera.
- Matte black finish: The anti-reflective surface reduces reflections from the adapter itself. It’s a considered detail around the lens-to-body connection.
- Lower-impact packaging: Urth’s packaging uses recycled materials, contains no plastic and is recyclable. The brand also says it seeks lower-impact materials and ways to reduce waste in product development.
Specialist Note
One tree planted per Urth product sold is a thoughtful part of this adapter’s story; for your photography, the key point is that the M39-to-RF link is entirely manual. I’d suggest it to Canon RF owners with an M39 lens they’re keen to keep using, especially for slower, considered work. For a still life, turn the lens’s focus ring yourself and set exposure manually rather than expecting autofocus or automatic metering. For a distant landscape, use the lens’s infinity focus setting. The trade-off is clear: this isn’t an electronic adapter, so automatic lens functions aren’t part of the experience.
