Westcott 40 Degree Egg Crate Grid For Rapid Box Switch Octa L

Westcott 40 Degree Egg Crate Grid For Rapid Box Switch Octa L | Keep light spill in check

When light from a softbox is reaching the background or nearby set, a grid can help keep the beam more contained. This Westcott 40 Degree Egg Crate Grid is made for the Rapid Box Switch Octa L, giving owners of that softbox a way to direct its light more deliberately. The 40-degree rating makes it a specific option for shaping the spread, rather than a general replacement part for any softbox. It suits photographers who want to manage where their light falls in a portrait or small studio setup, especially when the subject needs to be lit without washing the whole scene. The honest point is that a grid won’t change the look of the light source itself; its job is to give you more control over where that light goes.

Keeping the setup focused

This is a straightforward accessory with a clear role: it adds grid control to the Rapid Box Switch Octa L. That makes it relevant when you already use that particular softbox and want to limit spill, rather than when you’re looking to change modifiers or build a new lighting setup. The 40-degree designation gives you a defined spread to work with, which can help when you’re placing the softbox close to a background or trying to keep light off an area of the frame. You’ll still need to position the light to suit the subject and scene; the grid is a shaping tool, not a substitute for placement. If the Rapid Box Switch Octa L is already part of your kit, this is the grid option named for it.
