Kaiser Filteradapter 72-58
Kaiser Filteradapter 72-58 | Use 58 mm filters on a 72 mm thread
The 72-to-58 size step defines this adapter: it lets you fit a 58 mm filter to a lens with a 72 mm filter thread, so you can use filters you already own across different thread sizes. It’s a straightforward solution when your filter collection includes 58 mm filters but the lens you want to use has a larger thread. Screw the adapter onto the lens, then attach the filter to the adapter. The black colour keeps the ring visually understated in your setup. This Kaiser is best for photographers who want to make practical use of 58 mm filters without replacing them just because a lens has a 72 mm thread. It’s a small, specific accessory rather than a general-purpose filter system: the value is in bridging these two sizes. If those are the sizes you need to connect, it keeps the job simple.
Specialist Note
Once the adapter is in place, fitting a 58 mm filter to a 72 mm thread is a simple two-step job: attach the ring, then fit the filter. The 72 mm side is for the lens thread; the 58 mm side accepts the smaller filter, so you can put an existing 58 mm filter to work on that lens. That’s handy when you want to use the same filter for a particular scene or effect rather than buy another in a larger size. I’d keep this Kaiser for that exact pairing in your kit. One limitation is built into the sizing: it connects 72 mm and 58 mm, so it won’t solve a mismatch involving other thread sizes.
