TSE Step - Up Ring 40.5mm - 46mm
TSE Step - Up Ring 40.5mm - 46mm | Use a larger filter on a smaller thread
Without a step-up ring, a filter needs to match the thread on your lens. This TSE ring bridges a 40.5mm lens thread to a 46mm filter thread, so you can attach a filter with the larger fitting instead of buying one in the lens’s thread size. It’s for photographers who already have a 46mm filter they want to use on a lens with a 40.5mm thread, or who prefer to keep to that filter size for this setup. The job is simple and specific: the ring sits between lens and filter, adapting the connection. That makes it a straightforward accessory when the thread sizes don’t match. It won’t alter the filter’s effect or the lens’s capabilities; it just lets the two different thread sizes connect. If those are the sizes you need to join, this is the right kind of adapter.
Specialist Note
Can I fit a 46mm filter on a lens with a 40.5mm thread? Yes—that’s exactly what this TSE ring is for. The smaller, lens-side thread gives you the connection to that lens, while the 46mm end takes the matching filter. It’s a neat solution if you already own a 46mm filter and want to use it for a shot with this lens, rather than buying another filter just to match its thread. I’d keep in mind that the ring only adapts the fit; it doesn’t change how the filter works. For this particular size pairing, it’s a simple answer to a very specific mismatch.
