Western Digital My Passport 5TB USB-C Blue Portable

Western Digital My Passport 5TB USB-C Blue Portable | Carry more files with you

When your photo and video folders outgrow the space you have close at hand, keeping files organised becomes a chore. The Western Digital My Passport is a portable external hard drive with 5TB of storage, giving you room to keep a substantial collection together. Its USB-C connection is part of the appeal if that’s the connection you want for your storage drive, and the blue finish makes it easy to distinguish from other gear in your bag or on your desk. It suits photographers who want a separate place for image files, video projects or other large folders they need to carry. Its strength is straightforward: portable hard-drive storage with a sizeable capacity. One practical point: storage space is most useful when you decide in advance what belongs on the drive and how you’ll keep those files in order.

A simple place for your files

A separate drive can help keep a working collection apart from the files you use every day. You might organise folders by project, shoot or date, then use the same approach consistently so older material is easier to find. That’s a habit rather than a feature of the drive, but it makes a large collection less unwieldy. You can also decide which files you want to keep together when you’re away from your usual setup. The My Passport is a storage device, not a substitute for a considered backup routine: if a file matters, think about keeping another copy somewhere else. For photographers managing growing folders, that kind of simple plan can make a large amount of storage easier to use.
