Kase Revolution Plus ND8 77mm
Kase Revolution Plus ND8 77mm | Three stops less light for longer exposures
Smoother-looking water and more movement in a scene are within reach when you can lengthen the exposure without changing the light. The Kase Revolution Plus ND8 is a neutral-density filter: it reduces the light reaching the camera, giving you more room to choose a slower shutter speed or a wider aperture in bright conditions. That makes it useful for photographing flowing water, moving clouds or other subjects where you want motion to register across the frame. It can also help when you want a wider aperture in daylight but your chosen shutter speed would otherwise let in too much light. The ND8 strength is a moderate reduction, so it’s a practical starting point for controlled long-exposure effects rather than an extreme light cut. It suits photographers who want to shape exposure in-camera instead of relying only on settings or post-processing.
Specialist Note
77mm is the filter size, so it’s the figure to match to the lens’s filter thread before you plan a setup. The ND8 rating means the filter cuts the light by three stops; in practice, a scene metered at 1/30s could be exposed at about 1/4s at the same aperture and ISO. That’s enough to give a stream or small waterfall a softer appearance, while retaining detail in the surroundings. I’d suggest it to photographers who want to explore longer exposures in daylight without going straight to a much stronger reduction. It’s a measured effect, so very bright conditions or especially long shutter times may call for a different approach.
