At a mountain lookout, in a tight street or beneath a clear night sky, a very wide view can bring more of the scene into one frame. The 7Artisans AF10mm f/2.8 is an interchangeable ultra-wide prime lens for Sony E-mount cameras, with autofocus. Its 10mm focal length suits landscape and architecture photography, where you can use a strong foreground to lead the eye through the image or fit more of a building into the composition. For astrophotography, the maximum f/2.8 aperture gives you the option of gathering more light than a slower aperture would. On a Sony APS-C body, 10mm gives framing comparable to 15mm on a full-frame camera. This is a specialist focal length: it can make close objects look much larger than the background, so where you stand and what you place near the edges both matter.

Specialist Note

At 10mm, a small change in where you stand can make a big difference to the balance of the frame. I’d use that to bring a nearby rock or path into a landscape and let the view open out behind it; keep the foreground deliberate, especially near the edges. The f/2.8 maximum aperture is handy for night-sky scenes: open it up to gather light, then frame with plenty of sky and a clear foreground shape. Autofocus is a welcome help when switching between daytime scenes. This lens suits Sony E-mount photographers who specifically want an ultra-wide view; its very broad perspective takes some care with close subjects.
