Godox Omnidirectional Gooseneck Mic w/ 3.5mm TRS LCKNG CON.
Godox Omnidirectional Gooseneck Microphone with 3.5mm TRS Locking Connector | Flexible placement for spoken audio
The Godox Omnidirectional Gooseneck Mic has an omnidirectional pickup pattern and a 3.5mm TRS locking connector, making it a practical option when you want to position a microphone close to a speaker. It suits photographers and video creators recording speech, especially when the mic needs to sit in a particular spot rather than be held. Its pickup pattern takes in sound from around the microphone, which can work well for conversation or a speaker moving slightly as they talk. The gooseneck design lets you adjust the mic’s position to bring it nearer to the voice and keep it out of the way of the camera’s view. The connector is a specific part of the setup: your recording equipment needs to accept a 3.5mm TRS locking connection. This is a focused tool for getting a microphone into position; it isn’t a directional mic for isolating one voice from surrounding sound.
Specialist Note
For photographers making seated interview clips or narrated demonstrations, this Godox mic gives you a straightforward way to place the microphone near the person speaking. The omnidirectional pickup means it listens around its position, so it can suit a conversation where voices come from more than one side; it won’t reject nearby sound in the way a directional pickup would. I’d use the gooseneck to bring the mic closer to the speaker, then frame the shot so it stays outside the picture. One detail to plan for is the 3.5mm TRS locking connector: your recording setup needs a suitable input, so this isn’t a universal plug-in mic.
