VIJIM LS24 Microphone Arm 3 Parts w/ Cable Management
VIJIM LS24 Microphone Arm 3 Parts w/ Cable Management | Support for long-lens shooting
The VIJIM LS24 is a monopod for situations where you need support but a tripod would take up too much room. It’s especially suited to sports and wildlife photography with a long lens, where you may need to follow a moving subject, and to events where space is tight. A monopod gives you a point of support while leaving you free to reposition as the action changes. That makes it a practical middle ground: more support than shooting entirely handheld, without the footprint of a tripod. It’s best thought of as a way to steady your working position, not as a stand that holds a camera by itself. For wildlife, it can help during a long wait with a heavy lens; at a busy event, it can make it easier to keep your shooting space contained. The product name also notes a three-part design and cable management.
Specialist Note
New monopod users sometimes expect one to behave like a tripod and hold everything upright on its own. The LS24 is there to support your shooting position while you stay in control of the setup. Its three-part design gives you separate sections to arrange around the space you have, which is handy when you’re moving between a wildlife viewpoint and a cramped event position. The cable-management detail is worth considering if your setup uses a cable: routing it with the support can help keep it from dangling into your working area. I’d look at this for long-lens sports or wildlife, or for event work where a tripod gets in the way. It won’t give you hands-free support, so you’ll still need to guide it as you shoot.
