With a 44° angle of view, it takes in a clear subject and some of its surroundings, rather than trying to fit in everything at once. This makes it a good fit for photographers who like to move through a scene and choose their framing carefully. Specialist Note

f/1.7 lets you keep working as the light drops, instead of immediately reaching for flash. For street scenes, try around 1/250 sec to keep moving people crisp, then raise ISO if the exposure needs it. On a Fuji X APS-C camera, this 35mm lens frames like roughly 52.5mm on full frame: a natural, slightly selective view that suits details, signs and informal portraits while travelling.
