LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt & USB3.0 4TB 2.5 inch Up To 387MB

LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt & USB3.0 4TB 2.5 inch Up To 387MB | Store your files with two connection options

What sets this LaCie apart is the mix of 4TB of storage, a 2.5-inch format and Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 connections. It’s an external hard drive for photographers and other creators who want a place for image libraries, project files or copies of important work. The two connection types give you options when choosing how to connect it to your setup; the right one depends on the equipment you use. Its 4TB capacity gives you room to gather a substantial collection of files in one drive, rather than spreading them across several smaller storage devices. The “Rugged” name is part of the product, but it doesn’t tell us specific protection ratings, so I wouldn’t buy it on an assumption about drops or weather. For straightforward file storage, the capacity and stated connections are the useful details to weigh.

Making room for a growing library

A drive like this can be used to keep a separate copy of work you don’t want to lose, or to move files out of your computer’s main storage when space gets tight. For a photo library, that might mean organising folders by shoot or date so older projects are easier to find later. Keeping a second copy of important files on a separate storage device is a sensible habit; this drive can be one part of that routine. It’s also worth thinking about how you’ll use the files day to day: storage capacity matters, but so does having a connection that suits your setup. The product title includes an “Up To 387MB” figure, which is included below as stated rather than translated into a different unit.
