Westcott Apollo Strip Softbox w/ Grid (12 X 36)

Westcott Apollo Strip Softbox w/ Grid (12 X 36) | Shape light with a strip profile

Westcott Apollo Strip Softbox w/ Grid (12 X 36) is a strip softbox in a 12 x 36 format, supplied with a grid. It’s for photographers who want a long, narrow light source and a way to limit where its light spreads. That makes it a considered option when you’re shaping light along a subject or aiming to keep spill off nearby areas. The grid is the detail that gives this version a more controlled role than a strip softbox alone. Its proportions are the key point: this is a strip-shaped modifier, rather than a broad, square softbox. If that narrow shape suits the lighting you have in mind, the product name gives you the essential starting details without asking you to guess at a more elaborate setup.

Working with the strip shape

A strip softbox makes sense when the area you want to light is longer than it is wide. You can use that shape as part of a deliberate lighting setup, while the grid helps keep light from spreading as freely beyond the intended area. The effect you get will depend on how you place and use the softbox; the title alone doesn’t tell you the exact result in a particular scene. Think about the shape of your subject and the area around it before choosing a modifier. If a long, narrow source and a grid suit that plan, the 12 x 36 format is the defining detail to compare against your needs.
