This filter is a focused tool for controlling exposure, rather than an everyday filter to leave on the lens. Specialist Note
A six-stop reduction is quite strong, so this isn’t a filter I’d keep on for every scene; it’s useful when you specifically want more exposure time in bright light. For example, if your unfiltered meter reading is 1/60 sec, six stops brings that to about 1 sec—enough to soften flowing water. I’d meter the scene first, then adjust the shutter speed by the same six stops and check the result. The magnetic attachment is handy if your setup uses a compatible magnetic fitting, since you can attach or remove the filter without turning it like a screw-in filter.
