7Artisans Infinte 135mm T2.1 FullFrame DE-Clicked EF Mount
7Artisans Infinte 135mm T2.1 FullFrame DE-Clicked EF Mount | Tight, controlled framing for film
For a composed interview or a close view of a performer, a 135mm lens lets you frame the subject tightly while keeping some distance from the camera. The 7Artisans Infinte 135mm T2.1 FullFrame DE-Clicked EF Mount is a manual-focus short telephoto prime for Canon EF, designed for full-frame cameras and filmmaking. Its 18° angle of view keeps the frame focused on your subject rather than the wider surroundings. The T2.1 maximum aperture gives you room to work in lower light and create a shallower depth of field when you want the background less prominent. Its de-clicked aperture is suited to video, where smooth exposure changes matter during a shot. This is a considered lens for filmmakers who can plan their framing and focus, rather than a general-purpose option for fast, changing scenes.
Specialist Note
A tight close-up can be awkward when the camera has to sit right beside the person you're filming. The 135mm focal length helps you frame from farther back, which suits interviews and controlled dialogue scenes. At T2.1, you have more scope to keep the subject clear against a softer background; with manual focus, plan your focus changes around the speaker rather than relying on autofocus. The de-clicked aperture is useful when you need to adjust exposure smoothly during a take. Its 18° view is quite narrow, though, so in a small room there's limited space to reframe. I’d pair it with a wider lens for coverage.
