7Artisans Infinte 50mm T2.1 FullFrame DE-Clicked PL Mount
7Artisans Infinite 50mm T2.1 Full Frame DE-Clicked PL Mount | Smooth iris control for filming
For narrative filmmaking, this 50mm prime gives you a familiar, balanced perspective for dialogue, portraits and carefully framed details. The 7Artisans Infinite 50mm T2.1 Full Frame DE-Clicked PL Mount is a manual-focus lens for PL-mount cameras, designed for video and filmmaking. Its T2.1 maximum aperture gives you room to work in lower light and to keep a subject visually distinct from the background. The de-clicked iris is useful when exposure needs to change gradually during a shot, rather than in stepped increments. With a 47° angle of view, it suits considered framing on a full-frame image area, from a single subject to a composed two-person scene. This is a focused tool for crews and filmmakers who want direct control over focus and exposure, especially on a set where camera movement and lighting are planned around the shot.
Specialist Note
The de-clicked iris makes this lens a practical answer to gradual exposure changes during a take. You can adjust the aperture as the shot unfolds, rather than having to work around fixed click-stops. For a dialogue scene, I’d use the 50mm view to keep framing composed and open to T2.1 when the available light is low. That wide maximum aperture can also help separate a face from its background when the camera and subject are placed with care. It suits filmmakers and focus pullers who want hands-on control; just remember that focusing is manual, so a planned focus pull takes an operator’s attention.
