ACT 15 cm Conversion Cable DisplayPort Male - VGA Female

ACT 15 cm Conversion Cable DisplayPort Male - VGA Female | A short connection between two display standards

The defining choice here is its 15 cm length: this is a compact conversion cable for a connection where a short adapter is more appropriate than a long cable run. One end is a male DisplayPort plug; the other is a female VGA socket. It’s for a setup that needs to connect those two connector types, with the VGA side ready to receive a separate matching plug. That makes the connector direction important when you’re choosing it: the DisplayPort plug goes into the DisplayPort connection, and the VGA socket is the other end. The title doesn’t give details about resolution, signal handling or device compatibility, so I wouldn’t choose it on those assumptions. What it does tell you clearly is the physical arrangement and length. If that’s the connection you need, the short format keeps the adapter itself close to the ports rather than spanning a room or desk.

With adapters, the names alone can be easy to skim past. This one has a DisplayPort male connector and a VGA female connector, so it isn’t a cable with two male ends. The VGA socket is intended to meet a male VGA plug; the DisplayPort plug is the end that connects to a DisplayPort socket. That distinction is useful when you’re sorting out an existing setup, especially if the cable you already have ends in a VGA plug. The short 15 cm body gives you a little reach between the two connection points, but it isn’t a long extension. For a neat choice, match the actual connector ends in your setup to this male-to-female arrangement. There’s no need to infer extra features from the word “conversion”: the supplied product name gives the connection types and length, and those are the details to base your choice on.
