ACT 90m HDMI High Speed 4K Active Optical Cable w/ Detach

ACT 90m HDMI High Speed 4K Active Optical Cable w/ Detach | Long-distance 4K HDMI connection

When your display needs to sit a long way from its source, a regular short lead won’t reach; this cable is made for that sort of run. The ACT is a 90-metre HDMI cable, described as High Speed and 4K, with an active optical design and a detachable element indicated in its name. That makes it a specialist option for installations where the connection has to cover substantial distance, rather than a spare lead for everyday desk use. The benefit is clear: you can plan a much longer HDMI route while keeping 4K in the product specification. One practical point: a 90-metre cable needs thought before you start routing it, so measure the path rather than relying on the straight-line distance between the two ends. Its name also says “w/ Detach”; the precise detachable part isn’t clear from the product information, so I wouldn’t assume which connector or component comes away.

Planning a long cable run

For a fixed setup, first decide where the source and display will sit, then map the route the cable needs to follow. Include the distance around furniture, along walls or through the intended installation path; those turns can add length quickly. It’s also worth choosing the route before moving equipment into place, especially if the cable will be difficult to access later. The long reach is the reason to consider this model, but it also means it’s best suited to a planned connection rather than a quick temporary link. Keep the cable path in mind when arranging the room, and leave enough room at each end to make the connection without pulling the lead tight. That’s straightforward preparation, but it can save an awkward re-route.
