ACT Conversion Cable DisplayPort Male To DVI Male 5.00m

ACT Conversion Cable DisplayPort Male To DVI Male 5.00m | A five-metre DisplayPort-to-DVI connection

ACT Conversion Cable DisplayPort Male To DVI Male 5.00m gives you a five-metre cable with a DisplayPort male connector at one end and a DVI male connector at the other. It suits a setup where you need to join equipment with those two connection types, and the cable is best for situations where a short lead won’t reach comfortably. Both plugs are male, so the equipment needs matching female sockets. The connector names make the intended pairing easy to identify; there’s no guesswork about which ends the cable has. Its 5.00m length can be useful when the two devices need to sit further apart. One practical point: allow for the route the cable will actually take, rather than measuring only the straight-line distance between the devices.

Plan the cable route

Before settling on a position for your equipment, trace the path from one connection to the other. A cable routed around furniture or along a wall can use more length than the gap between the devices suggests. Leave enough room for the cable to reach both sockets without pulling the plugs taut, and consider where you want the devices to sit once everything is connected. The five-metre length gives you a clear measurement to work with, but the right amount of reach depends on your layout. Keep the connector labels in mind as you plan: this cable has DisplayPort on one end and DVI on the other. That makes it a straightforward option when those are the two connections your setup calls for. It’s a simple cable, and choosing it comes down to matching those connectors and allowing for the route.
