amaran D-Tap To 5,5mm DC Barrel Power Cable

amaran D-Tap To 5,5mm DC Barrel Power Cable | Routes D-Tap power to a DC barrel input

Send power from a D-Tap connection to equipment with a 5.5mm DC barrel input using the amaran D-Tap To 5,5mm DC Barrel Power Cable. It’s a straightforward link for a setup where those are the two connections you need: D-Tap at the power-source end and a 5.5mm DC barrel at the receiving end. That can help keep a rig powered without changing the connector type at either end. The product name gives you the essential point: this is a power cable with those specific connector types, rather than a general-purpose adapter. Its best use is a setup already built around D-Tap power and a matching DC barrel connection. The connector names are clear, which makes it easier to assess whether it fits your wiring plan before you bring it into the setup.

Check the connection in your setup

Start by looking at the power source and the equipment you want to power. The source needs to present a D-Tap connection, while the receiving equipment needs to accept a 5.5mm DC barrel connection. If those match your setup, this cable provides the named connection between them. It’s a simple part, but connector fit is only one part of a power setup: make sure the source and receiving equipment are suitable for use together before connecting them. That’s a sensible check with any power cable, especially when several power leads are already routed around a rig. Keep the cable’s role in mind when planning the layout: it links the two specified connector types. It doesn’t replace the need to choose a suitable power source or to use equipment that accepts the connection.
