B&W Type 3000 Orange / Empty
B&W Type 3000 Orange / Empty | A hard case for demanding transport
The defining decision is the hard-case format: it gives your camera gear a firm outer barrier for journeys where bags may be knocked, exposed to dust or caught in rain. The B&W Type 3000 is intended for transporting and storing equipment that needs more protection than a soft bag typically provides. It’s supplied empty, so you can use it for the gear you choose rather than receiving a pre-filled kit. The orange finish is a practical detail when you’re sorting equipment among other cases or bags. This case suits photographers and other camera users who move equipment between storage and locations, especially when the journey or conditions call for a sturdier container. Think of it as a protective case for transport and storage, not as a promise that your equipment can be left out in any weather: the useful point is its intended role against knocks, dust and rain during handling and transit.
Specialist Note
Rain is coming down as you move your camera gear from the car to a location, and this is the sort of moment a hard case earns its place. The Type 3000 is designed for transport and storage where knocks, dust or rain are concerns; I’d choose it when a soft bag isn’t the protection you want around your equipment. Its orange finish also makes the case easier to spot among darker luggage. Since it comes empty, you’ll need to supply and arrange the gear yourself. That makes it a straightforward option if you want a hard case for your own camera kit, but it isn’t a ready-to-use kit with equipment inside.
