Keep a filter you already own in your kit when you want to use it on a lens with a larger front thread. This B+W reducer ring bridges the size difference, so you can fit a smaller filter to a lens with a wider thread instead of buying another filter in the larger size. It suits photographers who share filters between lenses or want to make more use of the filters they have. Attach the ring between the lens and filter, then use the filter as usual; the look in your pictures comes from the filter, not from the ring. Its black finish keeps the accessory visually understated at the front of your lens. This is a straightforward piece of kit for a specific sizing problem: it adapts the connection, but doesn’t add a filter effect of its own.
Specialist Note
67 mm is the lens-side thread size, so this ring fits a lens with that front thread and gives you a smaller connection for your filter. The 52 mm end is for filters in that size. If you already have a 52 mm polariser for managing reflections, or a neutral-density filter for longer exposures in bright light, fit the ring to the lens and the filter to the ring. That lets you keep using those filters on a lens with a larger thread. One point to bear in mind: this steps down to the smaller filter size, so it won’t adapt a larger filter to the lens.
