Brinno APB1000 Rechargeable Battery Kit

Brinno APB1000 Rechargeable Battery Kit - 12,600mAh of external power

A time-lapse camera running on its usual batteries needs its power plan revisited as a long recording continues. The Brinno APB1000 Rechargeable Battery Kit adds a 12,600mAh, 45.4Wh external battery pack for Brinno camera and IoT applications. Its Always-On function supplies continuous power, addressing sudden pauses when a camera is operating with very little power available. That makes the kit relevant for extended time-lapse recording, a Brinno camera installation in a cold or hot environment within its stated temperature range, or an IoT setup that needs an external power source. The battery pack is also optimised for solar charging, a useful detail for setups where a solar charger is part of the power arrangement. The kit combines Brinno’s MRB1000 battery pack with an external power adapter, rather than being a battery pack on its own. Its two output connections serve different needs: Micro USB for a Brinno camera and USB-C for another supported connection. One detail to keep in mind is that the stated 2A output is shared across the two outputs, not specified as 2A per connection. At 280g, the pack adds a tangible piece of equipment to the setup, but its capacity is the point: it provides a dedicated external supply for longer-running camera and IoT applications.

Highlights

• Always-On power: The continuous-power function is intended for time-lapse and IoT use. It addresses the risk of a camera stopping suddenly when its own power level becomes extremely low, which matters when a recording needs to keep running.
• Solar charging optimisation: The APB1000 is optimised for use with a solar charger. That makes solar charging a supported part of the power setup, though the solar charger itself isn’t included in the listed box contents.
• Wide operating temperature range: The stated ambient temperature range is -20°C to 60°C. This gives buyers a clear reference for planning a time-lapse or IoT installation in notably cold or warm surroundings.
• Two output connections: The battery pack has a Micro USB output for a Brinno camera and a USB-C output. The connections cover those two output formats, while the stated 5V/2A is the total for both outputs together.
• USB-C input: The battery pack’s input uses a Type-C port. This identifies the connection used to charge the pack and is separate from the Micro USB and USB-C outputs.
• 280g pack weight: The battery pack weighs 280g. That’s a concrete addition to account for when planning where the external power pack will sit alongside a camera or IoT device.
• Battery pack plus adapter: The kit brings together the MRB1000 battery pack and an external power adapter. The battery pack is the central component; the adapter is included as a separate part of the kit.
