Caruba 5IN1 Gold.silver.black.white.translucent 102x153cm

Caruba 5-in-1 Gold/Silver/Black/White/Translucent 102 × 153 cm | Shape light with five surface options

During a portrait session, the light can look a little flat—or spill where you don’t want it. That’s when a reflector screen earns its place. This Caruba 5-in-1 gives you five surface options: gold, silver, black, white and translucent, in a 102 × 153 cm size. It suits photographers working with people or still-life subjects who want a hands-on way to adjust light without changing the whole setup. The different finishes let you choose between reflecting light back, reducing it, or working with light passing through the translucent surface. The size gives you a broad area to position beside a subject, though you’ll want enough room to handle it comfortably. It’s a straightforward tool; the useful part is being able to choose a different look from the same screen rather than carrying several separate reflectors.

Choosing how to shape the light

Start with the result you want, then choose the surface that suits it. A white reflector returns light gently, while silver can give a stronger reflection. Gold adds a warmer cast; black can reduce unwanted bounce and deepen shadows. The translucent surface is for softening light as it passes through. These are practical differences you can see in the image, so small adjustments to the screen’s position can matter. Move it closer or farther from the subject and watch how the light changes before settling on a placement.

For a solo photographer, the screen can be easier to work with when it’s supported or held by someone else. In a tight space, its 102 × 153 cm footprint may take some arranging. That’s an honest trade-off for having a generous working area: think about where you’ll position it before starting the shot.
