The Caruba UV + CPL + ND8 Kit 58mm brings those three filter types together for a lens with a 58mm filter thread. Use the UV filter to address a blue cast from ultraviolet sunlight and cover the lens’s front element with a replaceable layer. The circular polariser reduces reflections from glass and water, while adding contrast and colour saturation to outdoor scenes. In bright conditions, the ND8 cuts the light reaching the camera, so you can use a longer shutter speed or a wider aperture. That’s useful for softening the appearance of moving water or creating light trails from traffic at dusk. A protective coating on each filter makes cleaning easier, and the supplied pouch stores the set between outings.
Three distinct filter effects
- 58mm filter size: Each filter is made for a lens with a 58mm filter thread. Match that measurement to the filter-thread size marked on your lens.
- UV filter: Ultraviolet sunlight can add a blue tint to daytime photos. The UV filter addresses that cast and covers the front element, which is useful as a replaceable protective layer.
- Circular polariser: The CPL reduces reflections from surfaces such as windows and water. It also boosts contrast and colour saturation, including the difference between a blue sky and white clouds.
- ND8 filter: This neutral-density filter reduces the light entering the camera. Use it in strong sun when you want a wider aperture or a longer exposure, such as for softer-looking moving water.
- Coating and storage: The filters have a protective multilayer coating intended to make their surfaces easier to clean. The pouch holds up to four filters, with one space left over when you carry this three-filter set.

“Can this set handle the main filter jobs for outdoor photography?” Yes: it includes a UV filter, a circular polariser and an ND8, each with a separate role. I’d suggest it to someone who shoots landscapes or wants more control over outdoor video. For moving water, fit the ND8 and use a longer shutter speed to soften the movement; at dusk, that same light reduction can support traffic-light trails. For reflections in a window or on water, use the CPL instead. The useful point is that these effects aren’t interchangeable: the UV filter covers the front element, but it won’t do the CPL’s work on glare.
