Cokin Round Cine Filter ND2 Ø 127mm
Cokin Round Cine Filter ND2 Ø 127mm | A measured one-stop reduction in light
On a bright day, your chosen shutter speed or aperture can let in more light than you want. The Cokin Round Cine Filter ND2 Ø 127mm is a neutral-density filter for reducing the light reaching the camera, giving you a little more room to shape exposure. Its ND2 rating corresponds to a one-stop reduction, a modest adjustment rather than a strong darkening effect. That makes it relevant to photographers and filmmakers who want a small exposure shift while keeping their chosen settings close to where they are. The round format and 127mm diameter are key details when planning how it will fit into your filter setup. This is a straightforward option when a subtle reduction is enough; if you need a much slower shutter speed in bright conditions, one stop may not get you there on its own.
Specialist Note
Bright light can force you away from the shutter speed or aperture you meant to use; this filter gives you a small, predictable adjustment. The ND2 rating means one stop less light, so, for example, you could trade 1/30s for about 1/15s at the same aperture and ISO, if the scene’s brightness allows it. That can help introduce a little motion blur, or give you one stop more room to open the aperture for a portrait. The 127mm round size is important when choosing the holder or filter arrangement for your setup, so match that measurement carefully. I’d suggest it for a subtle correction, not as a heavy-duty solution for very bright scenes.
