Digit@l 52-55mm StepUp Ring

Digit@l 52-55mm StepUp Ring | Adapt a larger filter to a smaller thread

A 55mm filter can be used on a lens with a 52mm filter thread, so you can keep using a larger filter rather than buying another in the smaller size. The Digit@l 52-55mm StepUp Ring links those two thread sizes. It suits photographers who already have a filter and want to adapt their setup to a lens with a smaller filter fitting. Its job is specific: the smaller connection goes on the lens, and the larger one accepts the filter. That makes it most useful when the filter you want to use is larger than the lens’s filter thread. Match the ring to those diameters, then fit it as part of your filter setup. It’s a straightforward adapter; it doesn’t change what the filter does.

Choosing the right fit

Start with the filter you want to use, then look for the thread diameter on your lens. A step-up ring connects a smaller lens thread to a larger filter thread, so the direction matters. This is a specific adapter, not a way to connect any two sizes: the lens and filter need to match the ring’s two ends. If you already own a larger filter and have a lens with the corresponding smaller thread, this ring may let those pieces work together. I’d make the diameter match the deciding point. The product name gives you the size direction, but it’s still worth comparing both ends with the gear you plan to connect.
