DJI Matrice 400 Third Gimbal CON | Steadier footage while moving
Without a gimbal stabiliser, walking footage can pick up the movement of each step. The DJI Matrice 400 Third Gimbal CON is a gimbal stabiliser for people who want smoother video while moving, including for vlogs and walking shots. Its appeal is specific: it’s intended for filming on the move, rather than being a general-purpose support for a camera that stays still. If you regularly speak to camera as you walk, or need moving footage to feel calmer, this is the kind of tool to consider. Keep your pace measured and your framing deliberate; stabilisation helps with movement, but it doesn’t make hurried camera work disappear. The product name identifies it with the Matrice 400 and a third gimbal, so it’s aimed at a setup built around that configuration. It’s a focused option for video work where movement is part of the shot.
Specialist Note
For a Matrice 400 setup, I’d think about the third-gimbal role before planning a moving shot. This is a gimbal stabiliser, so its practical purpose is to help smooth footage as you move; that’s useful when a walking sequence needs to feel steady enough to watch. It suits someone making vlogs or other video on the move, especially if they can keep a consistent walking pace and framing. I’d use it for a spoken walk-and-talk or a moving view, rather than expecting it to fix every bump from rushed movement. The honest point is that it’s a focused tool: its strongest case is footage made while moving.
