Dulens ATP90B-PL APO Triassic Prime 90 T2.8 PL Mnt Color: Black
Dulens ATP90B-PL APO Triassic Prime 90 T2.8 PL Mnt Color: Black | A considered 90mm view for cinema framing
A tight shot can be hard to frame comfortably when a wide lens keeps too much of the scene in view. The Dulens ATP90B-PL APO Triassic Prime gives cinema crews a fixed 90mm focal length for more selective framing, with a T2.8 rating for setting exposure. It’s suited to filmmakers and camera teams building a PL-mount cinema setup who want a dedicated longer prime for carefully composed shots. Use it for dialogue close-ups, portraits or details: set the camera back to find the framing you want, then adjust focus and exposure for the scene. Its black finish gives the lens a straightforward, understated look on a rig. This is a specialist focal length rather than an all-purpose one; in a compact room, you may not have enough space to frame as tightly as you’d like. For planned interiors and controlled compositions, though, 90mm gives you a clear reason to reach for this prime.
Specialist Note
For a seated interview, I’d start by composing at 90mm and allowing enough room between the camera and subject to shape a comfortable close-up. That focal length suits a deliberate portrait or a tightly framed line of dialogue; it’s less forgiving when the camera has to stay close. The T2.8 rating gives you a clear exposure limit to work around, so in a dimmer room I’d open to T2.8 and set the rest of the exposure to the available light. It’s a focused tool for crews who plan their camera position. I’d pair it with a PL-mount cinema setup built for that framing.
