DZOFILM Dzo Film Catta Ace 2 Lens Bundle 18-35/70-135mm - PL & EF Mount (FT/M) | A 135mm view for considered portraits

For portraits and carefully framed event moments, a 135mm view lets you isolate a face or gesture without relying on a wide shot and a crop. The DZOFILM Dzo Film Catta Ace 2 Lens Bundle 18-35/70-135mm - PL & EF Mount (FT/M) is an interchangeable lens specified as a 135mm short telephoto prime with a Canon EF mount and manual focus. It suits filmmakers and camera operators who want a controlled, close composition for portraits or selected moments at an event. At this focal length, you can frame a subject from farther back than with a wider view, keeping the composition focused on the person. Careful focus placement helps direct attention to a face or gesture. Manual operation calls for time and attention, so it’s best suited to deliberate framing rather than unpredictable, rapidly changing action.

Specialist Note

For tight portraits across a room, the 135mm view lets you frame the face directly rather than shooting wide and cropping in. I’d use it for a head-and-shoulders portrait, setting focus carefully on the nearer eye and making small adjustments if the subject moves. For an event, choose a position and focus on the spot where a speaker or guest is likely to pause; that gives you a better chance of catching a composed expression. Manual focus gives you direct control over where attention falls, but it takes concentration when people move quickly. I’d reserve this lens for planned portraits and selected event moments, rather than trying to follow fast, unpredictable action.
