DZOFILM Dzo Film Catta Ace 70-135mm T2.9 - PL & EF Mount (FT/M)
DZOFILM Dzo Film Catta Ace 70-135mm T2.9 - PL & EF Mount (FT/M) | Telephoto reach with manual control
On a dialogue scene, the framing may need to tighten from a medium shot to a close detail without interrupting the setup. The DZOFILM Catta Ace 70-135mm is a telephoto zoom for filmmakers who want that change of framing in one lens. Its 70-135mm range gives you room to adjust your shot, while the maximum T2.9 aperture is useful when the scene calls for a wider aperture. It uses a Canon EF mount and manual focus, so it suits video crews who prefer to set focus themselves. This is a lens for filmmaking, especially for scenes where controlled telephoto framing matters more than covering a wide view. You can refine the composition across the zoom range without changing lenses, which can keep a setup moving when the shot needs a little more reach.
Specialist Note
Changing lenses just to move from a medium shot to a tighter insert can interrupt a setup; this zoom covers 70-135mm in one lens. I’d use the shorter end for a tighter view of the scene, then move toward 135mm for a close detail, adjusting focus manually as the composition changes. The T2.9 maximum aperture gives you room to work when you need more light through the lens. It suits filmmakers who like direct control over focus and framing. The honest limitation is the telephoto range: you’ll want another lens for wide establishing shots.
