Falcon Eyes Honeycomb For 80x120cm SBQ-80120HC

Falcon Eyes Honeycomb For 80x120cm SBQ-80120HC | More controlled light

The 80x120cm size is the defining choice here: this honeycomb is made for a Falcon Eyes SBQ softbox in that format, giving you a way to make its light more directional. It suits photographers who want to manage where their softbox light falls, rather than letting it spread as broadly across the scene. A honeycomb grid helps limit spill and keeps the beam more focused; that can be useful when you’re lighting a subject against a darker background or working in a space where nearby areas shouldn’t receive as much light. The practical benefit is control, not extra brightness. You’ll still be working with the light from your softbox, but with a tighter spread. It’s a straightforward accessory for a specific softbox size, so the key is matching it to the 80x120cm SBQ format.

In use, a grid can make a softbox feel less broad and forgiving. That’s helpful when you want the light to stay on a particular part of a portrait or product, but it does mean less spill to fill surrounding areas. If you rely on that softer, wider spread, you may need to adjust your lighting approach when the honeycomb is in place. There’s no need to treat it as a different light source; its role is to shape the spread of the softbox light. The honest trade-off is simple: more direction, less coverage. For a setup built around the matching 80x120cm SBQ softbox, this is a focused tool for refining where the light goes.
