Falcon Eyes Softbox Umbrella Reflectie U-48 118cm
Falcon Eyes Softbox Umbrella Reflectie U-48 118cm | Shape flash with a broad surface
The defining choice is the 118 cm umbrella format: it gives flash a broad surface to work with, rather than asking the small flash head to light a subject directly. Falcon Eyes presents the U-48 as a softbox umbrella reflector, a practical way to shape flash for portraits and small product setups. Position it between the flash and your subject, then adjust its angle and distance to control how the light falls. Its size suits single-subject portraits, tabletop objects and other scenes where you have room to place a modifier deliberately. The white colour keeps the unit visually simple in a studio or home setup. This is a light-shaping accessory, not a light source of its own, so it’s for photographers who already work with flash and want a broader surface to modify its output. In a tightly packed space, the 118 cm span may take some planning.
Specialist Note
The 118 cm surface gives this softbox umbrella a broad area to work with, so the flash feels less concentrated than it does from a small bare head. For a head-and-shoulders portrait, place it close to the subject and angle it in from the side for softer-looking light. I’d also use it for small products when you want to ease hard shadows: bring the modifier closer and adjust its angle to see how the shadow falls. The white colour keeps the unit visually quiet against a light studio background. One practical consideration is its span; a tight corner can limit where you position it. With room to place it carefully, it’s a straightforward way to shape flash for portraits and tabletop work.
