Formatt Hitech 46-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder
Formatt Hitech 46-77mm Step Ring For Firecrest 85mm Holder | Match your lens to the holder
You’re setting up a filter holder for a landscape, but the lens and holder need the right connection between them. This Formatt Hitech step ring is made for that job: it’s named for 46–77mm sizing and for the Firecrest 85mm holder. It’s a practical accessory for photographers who want to use that holder with a lens-side size covered by the ring, rather than treating the holder and lens as a single fixed combination. Attach the ring at the lens, then fit the holder for your filter work. That makes it especially relevant when you move between lenses and want to keep using the same Firecrest holder. The key consideration is the stated size range: this isn’t a general-purpose adapter for every lens. If your setup falls within the ring’s sizing and uses the Firecrest 85mm holder, it provides a straightforward way to bring the two together.
Specialist Note
This ring’s job is to adapt the lens-side size for use with the Firecrest 85mm holder, without changing to a different holder setup. The 46–77mm sizing gives you a defined range to work within: check the number on your lens’s filter thread, then choose this ring only if that size is covered. For a landscape, that lets you mount the holder and work with a filter to manage a bright sky; for an architectural view, it gives you the same holder-based setup while framing buildings. I’d keep the limitation in mind: a lens thread outside the stated range won’t be served by this ring. It’s a focused adapter, not a universal one.
