Formatt Hitech 82-62mm Step Ring For Firecrest 100mm Holder
Formatt Hitech 82-62mm Step Ring For Firecrest 100mm Holder | Bridges a specific size difference
A filter holder setup can become awkward when the fittings you need to join are different sizes. This Formatt Hitech step ring is made for the Firecrest 100mm holder and bridges an 82–62mm size difference, helping you build a matching connection instead of leaving the holder out of your setup. It’s aimed at photographers who already use the Firecrest 100mm system and need this particular size transition; it isn’t a general-purpose ring for every fitting. That makes its job quite specific, which is useful when the sizes match and less helpful when they don’t. For landscape photographers arranging filters for a scene, it can help bring the holder into a setup that would otherwise be incompatible at the connection point. Check that the 82–62mm transition is the one your arrangement calls for, then use the ring to join those sizes. Simple, focused and made around one clear need.
Specialist Note
This ring has a narrow job: it only bridges the 82–62mm size change, so it won’t help if your setup calls for different sizes. That’s also why it makes sense when you’re using the Firecrest 100mm holder and need this exact link rather than a broader accessory. I’d consider it for landscape work where you want to bring that holder into a filter arrangement with the matching 62mm and 82mm fittings; match both sides of the connection before setting up. The benefit is practical: you can make that specific combination work without changing the holder. If your sizes don’t match, this isn’t the ring to solve it.
